In a nutshell, the continuing unfolding of events is a series of crisis dominoes. As one falls it is inevitable that it will hit the next in line and cause that one to topple too. The problem for the global economy is that each subsequent domino is bigger, making the impact on the real economy that much more devastating. They are:

  • Credit Crisis
  • Liquidity Crisis
  • Solvency Crisis
  • Confidence Crisis
  • Currency Crisis
  • Fiat Crisis

You may question the order of them, you may even think there are one or two more. But you can’t argue that they are all lined up and the toppling process is well under way.

The question is, over the coming months and years, will they all topple? That decision, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective, lies in the hands of the assorted Governments.

As with any row of dominoes, once the toppling starts, the only way to protect those which haven’t toppled yet is to remove one of the dominoes. That way you prevent the remainder still standing from being hit.

Which domino could be removed? What form would that take?
