Here you’ll find the charts which are continually updated as new data is published.
Unlike the static charts found elsewhere on the site, these charts are in Flash. Which means Adobe Flash Player 9 is required to view, and interact, with them.
Moving the mouse over them will reveal the statistics relating to whatever your mouse is hovering over. You will also be able to zoom in on a particular timeframe which interests you. Simply place the cursor over the date you want to start, hold down your mouse’s right button, drag your mouse to the date where you want to see up to, then release the right button. Presto, just the data that interests you.
The charts currently available are:
- Nationwide Consumer Confidence Indices. The Nationwide Consumer Confidence Index, Present Situations Index, Expectations Index and Spending Index all on one chart.
- Retail Sales Index (Volume) – Monthly. All Retailing, Predominantly Food Stores and Predominantly Non-Food Stores indices. Volume figures are constant prices, seasonally adjusted. Data is 1988 onwards.
- UK Job Vacancies. Monthly total of job vacancies plus change of number compared to the same month a year earlier. From April 2001 onwards. Not seasonally adjusted.
- UK Job Vacancies by Size of Employer. Monthly totals of job vacancies based on size of prospective employer: 1-9 employees, 10-49, 50-249, 250-2499 and 2500+. From June 2001 onwards. Seasonally adjusted figures.
GDP:
- Annual GDP Growth Rates. Government GDP growth rates and RPI-adjusted growth rates compared.
- Real GDP Growth. RPI-adjusted GDP growth rates from 1955 Q2. Quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year rates.
- Euro Health Care Index. 33 countries, graded on six categories: Patient Rights and Information; e-Health; Waiting Times; Outcomes; Range and Reach of Services, and; Pharmaceuticals. Which health service ranks where?
- Annual Price Inflation: CPI, RPI and RPIX. The annual rates of price inflation. CPI from January 1989, RPI from June 1948 and RPIX from January 1976.
- RPI Inflation: Secular Bulls Compared. The 1959-1975 secular bull in inflation compared with the 2001-? secular bull.
- PPI Output Prices Inflation: Monthly Index. Percentage change on previous month and same month of previous year. All Manufacturing (Not Seasonally Adjusted) index.
- PPI Output Prices Inflation: Quarterly Index. Percentage change on previous quarter and same quarter of previous year. All Manufacturing (Not Seasonally Adjusted) index.
- Company Liquidations in England and Wales. Quarterly numbers both Compulsory Liquidations and Creditors’ Voluntary Arrangements since 1960 Q1.
- Income Payments Orders and Arrangements. Quarterly numbers for IPOs/IPAs in England and Wales from 1999 Q1 onwards.
- Personal Insolvencies in England and Wales. Quarterly numbers of personal insolvencies in England and Wales since 1960 Q1: Bankruptcies, IVAs, Debt Relief Orders and Deeds of Arrangement.
- Personal Insolvencies in Scotland. Quarterly numbers of personal insolvencies in Scotland from 1999 Q1 onwards. Sequestrations, LILA Bankruptcies and Protected Trust Deeds.
- Growth in the Number of Mortgages. Six month and year-on-year changes in the number of mortgages.
- New Mortgages: Monthly. Monthly numbers, starting January 2002, of mortgages taken out FTBs, Movers and as Remortgages.
- New Mortgages: Quarterly – Quarterly new mortgage numbers, starting 1974 Q1, for FTBs, Movers and Remortgages.
- Buy-to-Let Mortgage Numbers. Total number of BTL mortgages and the 6 month growth.
- Buy-to-Let Mortgage Arrears. Mortgages 3+ months in arrears, 6-month rising totals and as a percentage of total BTL mortgages outstanding.
- Average House Prices. Monthly average house prices for England and Wales from Rightmove (August 2001 onwards), Nationwide Building Society (January 1991 onwards) and Land Registry (January 1995 onwards).
- First Time Buyer Affordability Indices. Nationwide Building Society’s quarterly calculation of affordability of FTB house prices. UK, London, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. 1983 Q1 onwards.
- First Time Buyer House Price to Gross Earnings Ratio. Nationwide Building Society’s quarterly average of ratio of FTB house prices to mean gross annual earnings Monthly average house prices. 1983 Q1 onwards.
- Land Registry: Monthly Property Prices and Number of Sales. Monthly average house prices for England and Wales, and the number of transactions, from January 1995 onwards.
- Land Registry: Property Price Performance Across Five Currencies. Index performance of average house prices for England and Wales based on GB Pound, US Dollar, Euro, Yen and Gold. January 1995 onwards.
- Nationwide Savings Indices. The Nationwide Savings Index, Importance of Saving Index, Savings Environment Index and Future Savings Index all on one chart.
